WEEK 33 . . . .Working Harder than ever before!

3/20/2017

This week was actually super good here even though I messed up my neck and back pretty good. jaja It was super good! We had a huge conference this week with all the missionaries from Arequipa. Elder Falabella un setenta talked with us so it was super cool. He just kind of told us that what we’re doing isn’t enough and that we have to do more. So I’ve just started to work even harder. I talked with Pres on Monday and he helped me out a ton. He helped me realize my true potential como misionero. He’s got a lot of high expectations for me and he knows what I can do so that’s always a good thing. He said that is why I have re opened 4 areas and have turned them around. I would feel bad if something happened and I hadn't work my hardest.

I’m super bummed about my neck though. The freaking nurses won’t answer their phone so I don’t know when or where my cita is with the doctor. Hopefully I can get in today cause it’s hurting more each day. You can probably tell I’m a little crooked. One shoulder about 2 inched lower than the other. jajaja I’ve just gotta stay positive though right? I try to joke around about it and I have a pimp gimp going on. I’m not ready to come home to get this fixed so hopefully they can do something for me here.  The Pres says he will see what the orthopedic surgeon has to say before we decide anything. He’s supposed to be the best orthopedic dude here so hoping he can help me out a ton. I gotta do what I gotta do right? I just feel like there’s so much more left here for me to do. Not quite ready to go home.

So this next week we have a baptism. There had only been 3 baptisms in this area in the past 2 years.  It’s the last day of the month. jaja and his name is Josep.  Not much to tell jaja He is 16 and his parents don’t want him to get baptized but he’s cool. He wants to so we’re working with his parents to give him permission. He’s already going to seminarios and stuff like that so he’s super cool. I’ll get a pic with him this week.  We have 2 others set for April,  one has 16 years and one has 14 years so that's cool right?

The comps cool. He’s super hard to understand  but he’s cool. jaja Peruvian Spanish is so bad! He helps me a lot though.  The thing is,  he like never talks with our investigadores so that’s a little odd. I usually do all the talking so it’s all good.  I’m used to it and I’m practicing the language. I stepped up my language study this week cause I wanna learn the language completely. I’m just trying to get it all down.

Thanks for all the support from everyone at home.  I really appreciate it!  I will let you know how things go after my cita! Love you!

WEEK 32 . . . . Just Chillin in Hunter, Peru

3/13/2017

Hey whats up?!

Sounds like you guys had a good week! jaja. Drew, way to win the high jump with a 6 foot jump. jajaja You’re a stud. I freaking miss track so much. I guess just sports in general. I was playing a little ball on Saturday with this guy that likes to play basketball from the ward. He sucks but he loves basketball jaja so it’s all good. I was throwin down some hammers. Take advantage of it Drew while you can. I saw that pic of you postering some fool. That’s pretty sick! jaja.

You guys didn’t need to send me another package. I’ve already got a ton of stuff. THANKS though! jaja. Well, they found my missing Valentine package and now I got my shoes and everything. I’m still eating the cookies even though they are 2 months old. They are better than anything here! Jaja Thanks for all the protein bars and stuff. jaja. I love the spices you sent, they make the food so it doesn’t suck so bad. jaja. Thanks for sending another package though. ll be sure to get this one. I have interviews with the pres today so that should be good. The neck and back are fine. They hurt but it’s whatever. I haven’t asked to go into the chiropractor yet. My necks hurting though so thanks for the neck pillow. That should help a lot.  I am just trying to exercise and stretch as much as I can.

This week was pretty rough. jaja We didn’t find much. We contacted like 150 people and only 5 people invited us back. So that’s that, right? jaja Everyone in my area is bien Evangelista o Testigos so it’s pretty tough. Good thing I did the track before the mish. I was thinking about that this week. I realized that even when I won High jump, I was still failing because you always end on a miss jaja. It kind of taught me to accept failure and rejection. I had some people cuss me out this week in Spanish. jajaja  It was so funny. I just laughed at them and they got even more mad. Really not a ton went on this week. We just contacted and stuff. There has only been 4 or 5 baptisms in this area in the last 3 years. So that is why it was closed and now we are reopening it. Its a rough area but we found some good investigadores this week. The 5 that we found all have potential to get baptized so we can only hope. jaja

Other than that really nothing happened. I can’t really think of other stuff that went down. The pensh is cool. She’s one of the only ward members that helps us out here. jaja The bishop is a stud too! I love the guy. I’ll get some pics with them this week. The wards pretty chill. I guess here though there’s some hard core problems with the ward supporting the missionaries so I don’t think well have a ton of support but whatever, right? jaja.  Really not much I can do about that? I’m going to start teaching English classes this week so that should be good!

Oh, something funny that happened this week. jaja  We were contacting and knocked the door of this old dude that was drunk out of his mind. jajaja He left his house dancing and invited us to drink with him. jajaja. We just started dancing with him in the middle of the street. The dude was plastered. jaja Well that’s the week fam hope all is good there!

         WEEK 31 . . . . Emergency Change to                Hunter, Peru?!

3/6/2017

Hey whats up!

Well, by now you know I had an emergency change this week.  But it’s all good.  I knew if the Pres found out about my neck and back and me passing out he would freak and he did. I got changed to this area called Hunter, that’s pretty weird right? Not much here to be completely honest. I’m pretty upset I got changed. I haven’t stayed in one of my areas for longer than one change and I’ve opened up every single area that I’ve been in. I never get to see the progress of my investigadores. I had 7 baptisms set for this month and they were super sweet people. That’s what makes it tough. The Pres called me this morning. He told me I can go in a couple times to the chiropractor if I need too. So we will see. The dudes watching me like a dingo watches a human baby. Thanks guys for letting him know jaja.

I don’t know what were going to do today. It’s the first time my comps been in Arequipa so we’re going to just get to know some places today. We both miss pizza so were going with the other Elders of the district to buy pizza so that should be sweet right? jaja Not much has gone on this week other than my emergency change. It’s the 2nd one I’ve had and this is the 4th area I’ve had in 5 cambios. I’ve opened up every area. The barrio here is super chill though. They help us a lot to find investigadores because they know this area is freaking hard.  They all seem to love me. Pretty funny though that alguien asked me if I was from Colombia! jaja They say my accents pretty good and that I don’t sound like a gringo when I speak. So that’s dope right! Well, that’s about it this week not much to really tell. jaja.

Love ya guys!

WEEK 30 . . . . 6 more weeks in Corire!

2/27/2017

Hey what’s up!

Well I didn’t get a transfer so I’ll be here for the least 6 more weeks! I talked to Pres about it and I told him that I solved things and am working things out and that I could work in the area still. He said if it starts back up again though he’ll change me. I don’t really want to leave cause the presidente of the branch is awesome and training me to get huge. jajaja Hey, I guess the Pres just needs some help here so I’m happy to help. jaja  I’m working on that positive attitude. The people have actually  been getting a lot better. I love a lot of the members. There’s still some that really wanna get in my face but I just ignore them. I’ve become so patient you guys have no idea. jajaja Well, I haven’t gotten my package yet and I don’t know when I’ll get it. I talked to my buddy in the office and he said that he sent it to me like 3 weeks ago. jajajaja Soooooo I don’t know where it’s at. I’ll check again today to make sure. Thanks for sending another one. jaja Maybe I’ll get that one before of the other one arrives here. Sounds like you guys are having fun though! Freak, like 50 inches of snow at basin??? That’s incredible I miss snowboarding! I miss the cold so much! You can come spend time here. It’s always 1000 degrees and 100% chance of catching malaria! jaja There are a ton of mosquitos here. I finally got a fan and some bug spray. All’s good though!

This week was a lot better. A LOT BETTER!!!  We had a conferencia de misión this past Friday and every single misionero from the mision was there. It was so nice to see all my homies. jaja  It made it so nice and a good change. The dude that spoke was so freaking sweet. Can’t remember his name to be honest jaja but he talked a lot about the temple that’s going to be built. He’s a cool guy. I gotta see my 2 best friends in the mision! ELDER HEATH is the one on the left and ELDER HILDEBRANDT is on the right with the bear pillow jaja. Heath just finished his mision so that sucks a ton. When I was in Arequipa I always left to play ball with him and Hildebrant. It was so fun. Hilde has like 3 months left in the mish so I don’t know what I’ll do when he leaves. They’re awesome! Hildebrandt is coming back after the mision though and he’s going to come find me. jaja. SO that will be sweet!

This week was cool though with la obra! Our investigadores started assisting to church this week, the ones that are going to get baptized in Marzo. So it was sweet! Until after church when we found them leaving a bar wasted as nuts! jajajaja. So we gotta teach them la palabra de sabiduría. We have a lesson with them tomorrow so we’ll make sure to teach that. jaja They’re good people and I think they’ll change for sure. They just don’t know yet that it’s un mandamiento de Dios! They live in a smaller village outside of Corire where I live.  It’s called Villa Eléctrica. You’ll never be able to find the cities on google. The only one that you can find is Corire. All the others are literally dirt holes. No one has electricity in their homes. Its nuts! I’ll take a picture of the place where our investigadores that are going to get baptized live. You’ll understand what I mean. We have a chapel in Corire and it’s pretty cool. We always play futbol there with the members and just hang out with the people there. It’s definitely the nicest building in our area. jaja
I gave a talk in the church yesterday so it was good! I freaking spoke pure doctrina. I decided to talk about the importancia de la oración. It was good if I say so myself. jaja.  We don’t really know what we’re going to be doing today and don’t have anything planned.  I think we'll just relax.

Last week I decided to go on a hardcore diet with the President of the branch. He’s the coolest guy ever! jaja and he loves ejercicio and basketball so we play sometimes with a pelota de fútbol. So, this last week we started going nuts with the verduras and frutas. I already was just trying to eating healthy. Every morning we wake up at 4 am to workout. Every other day we go running and the other days he just kills us with the pushups and pullups. Just a little of everything! I’m getting closer to doing the splits! That’s cool right? So little by little. Some other fun news - jaja I started sleeping on the ground. It hurts my back to sleep in the bed. I like the concrete ground more. I have had one hot shower in 7 months, not going to lie I miss a nice hot shower. jaja.  So I was playing ball with the president Saturday and he loves that I can jump high. jaja. I was throwing down some hammers and reverses. It’s sweet! I’ll get some videos for the next week!

Love you guys!  Keep having fun and enjoying Utah. It’s a lot better than Peru that’s for sure. jajaja.

          WEEK 29 . . . . Walking, Contacting and         Picking Mangos!

2/21/2017

Hey Whats up fam!!

Freak, Sound like you guys had a fun week. DREW gotta get the leg better man! jaja Stretch a ton!  It really will help. Sounds like you did great at Simplot.  I miss track so much! I love stretching, it’s the best. I’m super close to getting the splits! He puesto esa meta y voy a hacer todo posible para cumplirlo! I’m not going to lie though dude jajaja that pic of you and the track kids was so funny! jajaja I was dying man! And yah bro you finally saw my name in the cage! It’s sweet man! Keep working hard in track!

Nope, I didn’t get my package yet. I may get it this week. We have a huge conference in Arequipa on Friday for all the missionaries. So that should be fun.  I should also find out Thursday what’s going on with our area.

Well, this week we didn’t really do much. We’ve just been doing the same thing everyday. Walking, contacting, working, jaja and not doing much else. Mission life, right?! We went and worked on a farm with one of the members. He’s honestly one of the coolest people ever! His name is Hermano Vegil. He’s a stud and I really love that guy!  He’s a member of the branch.  I’m teaching him English right now. He knows a lot cause the elders from the US always teach him. He’s the guy in the picture and his house is behind him. jaja The majority of the people we teach don’t have lights. It’s so crazy. We teach lessons in the dark and with flashlights! Good thing dad sent me with some good ones!We helped him pick fruit and what ever else he needed us to do. He let us take a bunch of mangos to our house to eat. So that was sweet! I eat so much fruit here! It’s crazy! I eat like 20 bananas, 10 mangos, and 10 apples every 2-3 days. I wasn’t buying a bunch of vegetables but I started doing that this week. I bought a stick of Brocolli jaja and some carrots to eat so it was good. Oh, how I miss the food of the states though.

So good news for the area, we have a couple people here that want to get baptized. There should be like 7 bautismos this next month or something like that. jaja Only a few right??? So we really have been working hard and trying to connect with the people.  They’re all neighbors and always listen to us when we come to visit their area. jaja.  None of them have ever heard about the church before. The misioneros have never gone to where they live so we were the first! So cool! It’s pretty crazy. Half of them don’t speak Spanish very well. They speak a language called quechua which is nuts!  I’m starting to learn a little bit of it so I can kind of teach a lesson to them. My comp doesn’t know the language either so were just learning it together right now too. They understand us but they sound like me when they try to reply in Spanish.jaja It’s kind of funny. I was just thinking of this scene from Big Bang theory when Raj’s date is deaf and he needs Howard to translate for him!jajaja  I love that show!

As I had said before, I really love this area, it’s just the pressure that I am getting here from the other elders. It’s mainly the elders here in the district that keep asking me for money, mostly my district leader, and I don’t know why. When I say no then they try to make me feel bad and it’s just a lot to handle. The ward ledir misional was one of the people talking bad about me too. I got on his case and gave it to him good. I told him if he’s got problems with me he can speak to me and not to the other people of the ward. I just don’t know if I can do another change here. I told the president that I would like a change but if he needed me to stay here I would. I really hope he changes me though even though I would miss out on seeing our new investigators progress. So, I think I’ve solved that problem. jaja. They were 2 main guys causing the problem in the area and I think they’re switching the DL. ESPERO que el tenga cambio.  My comps a stud though. jaja We don’t have any money left for the month, the office forgot to send it to us last Monday, so I always have to pay for things cause he doesn’t have money. Makes it hard but it is what it is. jaja.

Today we are going to see some waterfalls or something like that and if I am still here next week we are going shrimp fishing cause the season starts then.  I think I might take my comp out for lunch. There isn’t really anything here, just local places that serve chicken but I want to find a place that serves shrimp cause it’s freaking good here!

Love you guys and have a good week!

WEEK 28  . . . . When times get tough,             Turn to God!

2/13/2017

HEY what’s up fam!

Looks like you guys had a fun week! jaja Dad you always have a new toy bro! jaja Glad you finally got your Treager, how is it? I’d kill for some good food from home. I’m pretty sure I have tape worms or some sort parásito. What ever it is who knows! jaja So yah, I miss clean food that doesn’t give me parásitos. So, the snows already gone? What’s up with that? Freaking cambio climático! That’s all good though it’s only February and it will come again. Pucha – How’s the walking dead this season? Some nut was watching it here and I heard the theme song and it made me a little sad jaja. You know the little things get you down! jajaja

So, I just found out that Landon’s getting married. What!? Why didn’t anyone tell me or did I just miss it? jaja When is that going down? Congrats to you Big Guy! Way to go Drew at state! That’s what I like to see. Swimming’s done now get after it in track now homie.

This week was pretty crappy to be completely honest. jaja It was a rough week not going to lie. We had a bautismo yesterday so that was cool and he is a really great kid. We found some cool investigadores that should be pretty good. We have been working really hard and are teaching about 15 different people.  It is just so hard because they can’t commit to go to church.  They work everyday on their farms and start working at about 4 am.  But there are so many problems here in this area. I now know why it was closed. The branch is super ungrateful for everything and there are very few cool members in our branch. There are about 6 members here that hate me for some reason and I don’t know why. They have no reason to except that I am a rich American, they think. jaja They talk a lot of crap about me that isn’t true and say I’m a terrible person because I don’t lend them money. I don’t know why they would expect me to lend them money. They’ve smoked something way too strong. I’m not sure who is saying that but my buddy in the branch is telling me that there are rumors about me going on. I’m struggling with these members. My district leader got on my case for being from the states. Saying things like -  I am perfect because I’m from the states and the latinos can’t be perfect like me.  He is always asking me for money also because I’m from the states and then gets on my case when I tell him no and says that I’ve got more money than him. The dudes like 3 feet tall and 400 pounds - I was about ready to drop him. I am pretty sure he is the one starting the rumors about me. jaja. He’s just jealous because our area is having success and his isn’t. We make him look bad and he doesn’t like it. It just take some hard work and that's what he can't figure out. My comp helped me out and defended me a little but I don’t know. The DL was his comp from the CCM soooo it’s like who knows. I am going to email the Pres and let him know what’s going on. I just don’t know if I can last another transfer with these people. It is really tough when I am here to serve.

This morning I woke up at 4:30 to help a lady bag concrete for 2 hours. She was super grateful that I was willing to help her out. They are a family in the branch and one of the only cool ones here. So, I mean there are good people in this branch too just not many.  Wow, there are some bad ones here. The non-members in this area are really good people and grateful for all of our help. They are so much better than the members.  It should be the opposite, right?! The members of the branch need to take a lesson from the non-members. I LOVE the non-members here! I honestly would do anything for them. They work so hard and are super grateful for any help that we can give them. That is why I'm here and I know it. So yah, rough week not going to lie.jajaja  I’m just hoping that this week is better.  Today we will probably go and see the Spanish Castle just outside the village.  Last week I rode a dinosaur!  jajaja

There wasn’t a lot of good that happened this week. I just keep remembering what Parker told me before I left. That there is never a bad day in the mission, it’s what you make of it. It has always been on my mind but I don’t know how Parker put up with crap like this some times. It hit me yesterday really hard and I was so ready to call the president and ask for a change because these things have been going on since I got here and I have just tried to ignore them and make the best of it. Yesterday afternoon, while my comp was sleeping I read all the notes from everyone that wrote me before I left and it made me feel better and that "I can do HARD things"! Really they answered my prayers. They say when times get tough turn to God. It’s what I did and I can see he’s here helping me out. Just gotta last 2 more weeks and then hopefully I have a change or stuff gets better here.

Love you guys and have a good week!

            WEEK 27 . . . . 6 Months Down and                    I LOVE  this PLACE!

2/6/2017

Hey hey!!

Looks like you guys had a fun week! jaja  and Super Bowl looked insane!! jaja The one year that it’s actually good and I missed it. jaja So Drew, you’re killin’ it like I knew you would! That’s what I like to see. Finish swimming off strong and get out to the track where real men are born. I’ll be doing some spring cleaning here too! jaja No worries, I’m not missing out on the chores! I'm doing plenty here.  Oh yah and dad you’re not going to find my village on the weather app because it’s super out of the way and in the middle of nowhere.  PRETTY CRAZY jaja! Estoy en el medio de ningún lugar!!!! jaja.

This week was pretty crazy! I freaking did so much service and it was great.  I built another house but it got dark early and so I couldn’t take a pic but hey it’s all good! jaja I’m going to build another one this week or the next! We’ve been doing a lot of service to help the people out with their work and get to know them. We have found a lot of good investigadores this week that are super humble and really want to learn so it’s awesome! I’ve gotta do some work in this area or the presidente is going to close this area again for good and possibly the branch. If we don’t find some people this change or at least people with dates he’ll close it so who knows. We’ll just have to wait and see. It should be interesting and changes are the end of this month. Cause like I said, everyone here is super old and there’s not a lot of young people! jaja  We have like 10 investigadores in total but only 4 or 5 really solid ones. A lot of people don’t have time here to go to church because they’re all working in the farms.  We have one baptism coming up but it’s because the baptism record got lost so he has to get baptized again. There isn’t a whole lot here so there’s no time to rest! jaja. The branch is super good to us. There are only about 30 or 40 people but the majority are super good! I LOVE this place. So hopefully I can find some more people to teach and can stay here for a while. I have to say I don’t want to be here for mothers day though or it will be impossible to find a place with good computers and a camera to skype! jajaja. But, I do like it here a lot and there are so many good and humble people.

This week was good. The back and neck are still a little sore this week cause I did a lot of service jaja but I’ve gotta do it or it doesn’t get done right! DAD MENTALIDAD! It’s all good and I just keep moving forward not worrying about that stuff. I have to forget about myself for two years so that others can have a better life. That’s what this gospel is all about right? But a funny thing happened this week jaja. We were contacting and knocking puertas here and we knocked the house of a couple prostitutas. jajaja Hay muchas putarias acá! jajaja I guess that my area is like whore central and a ton of prostitutas live here. I feel like we’ll be invited to a lot of houses here don’t you think? jajaja Don’t worry we were outta there!jajaja

Today we are going to go and see some dinosaur fossils I think.  There is also and old Spanish castle here that is about an hour away so I think we’ll go and see that too!  This week we are starting to teach English class so we’ll see how it goes. Tuesday I am going to go help on a dairy farm and milk some cows and such! THE GOOD LIFE BABY!  Should be pretty sick! Maybe I’ll get to have some real milk.  I did have some shrimp and it’s sooooo good and they are HUGE! If we’re still here in March we are going shrimp fishing in the river cause that’s when the season starts. Last week we went to a huge bridge there.

Well that’s the week fam! Not much else happened! Can’t believe it, it’s pretty crazy I have 6 months in the mish! WHAT?!

Love ya,

WEEK 26 . . . . Awesome Week!

1/30/2017

Well thanks for caving in pops! jajaja  I guess it’s best that mom knows too. jaja  Just don’t want her to worry but I’m all good. The back and neck are just a little sore. It’s not helping to walk all day and hurt all day but I’ve been trying to stretch it out. Hey big daddy glad to see that acupuncture is working good for ya!! I’ve heard it’s pretty weird not going to lie. jaja I should see if I can get that here with some rusty nails or something. I’m going to pass on talking with the mission pres about my back and stuff because he’ll take me out of my area and put me in historia familiar and that’s the worst thing in this world.  I’ll make sure to send some pics this week. BUT wow this week honestly was awesome jajaja There’s so much that happened.

This week we traveled to Mollendo for 4 days. We had a conferencia de zona there and it was super dope! Mollendo is a town on the beach that’s super cool but the presidente doesn’t let us go to the beach so we didn’t go down. The next time we go though I’m going down si o si. It was sweet there! It’s like 4 hours de mi area and so that sucked. 4 hours in a little minivan was great fun. Also slept 3 days on concrete so that probably wasn’t good for my back jaja but oh well it happened. AND this is the good thing jaja There’s this super hot hermana that just arrived in the mission from Eden Utah. The funny thing is that I talked to her before the mission how ironic. She’s good looking and it’s nice to see an hermana from the states. Peruanas are terrible. jajaja  No, she’s super cool but I’m incapable of talking with her in English. I tried like 3 times but just looked like a fool. God knows. He took away my English! jajaja  I couldn’t speak a lick of english. So, yah, that’s probably a good thing jajaja. Que pena ya?

We found a ton of new investigadores this week and it was awesome. A bunch a people that are ready to get dunked. We did a lot of service this week too. We helped this lady dig another bathroom and built part of a house. Oh and dad you’ll be happy to hear that I learned how to do electrical here!! Summoned my inner dad and wired the crap out of that house. jajaja. The things you learn.  Well and the Spanish yah I think I’ve almost made it. I understand everything. There’s always a word here and there that I don’t know but for the most part I got this stuff locked and loaded.  Now I’ve gotta work with speaking! I’ve gotten a lot better though no worries. This week we are going to do some hardcore farm work. I’ve been begging to work in the chacras here cause I want to so bad! I’ll milk a couple cows this week and cultivate some arroz so what more could I want jajaja.

Nothing else happened I don’t think. jajaja I can’t remember. But some other random stuff that I’ve noticed here on the mission. I don’t have an outie belly button anymore. Don’t know what happened there but it got sucked up. I can now grow a half beard. Pretty crazy. I have to shave every 2 days so you know I’m moving up in this world. jajaja. I’m actually pretty decent at soccer. We play a ton here so it’s like I gotta get good. I don’t like being bad at things. jajaja. It is super cool here and I love it!  We play a ton of soccer with the kids and they love me!  I want to start teaching English classes to the kids here.  I’ve been offering so maybe they sill start accepting soon. But yah that’s the week fam!!

Love ya! jajaja  and hope all is good there.  Drew that’s what I like to see way to kill it at the swim meet homie!!! Get it at state and then get into track homie!

Love ya guys

I like to see that every ones doing good back in the states. Good to hear Drew that you’ve set some sweet goals. Definitely stay on track and read everyday! It’s something I regret not being more prepared before I left. jajaja. It’s what ever. I’m still killing it now though! jaja. GOOD LUCK AT REGION AND STATE BRO! That’ll be sick and you gotta keep up the Simonsen legacy in track! Just keep working hard, love ya man. So did you guys get the packages?? I sent two so hopefully you got them both. I didn’t think the little nativity would survive but I tried. jaja Sorry for that. I finally got my card though so thats good!! Phew what a relief. It only took a month. I’ll be looking forward to the package! I always love getting packages.jaja They save my life!!!!

This week was a fun one. We spent the whole week getting to know the area and it’s pretty sweet! My area is freaking huge.. jajaja  In a car it takes us 2 hours to go across.  We have to walk everywhere or ride these mini van things around. It’s just pure farms and hills so it’s nuts and so much different than Arequipa. The people here are super humble and so it makes it a lot easier to open an area. We have found some pretty sweet people this week. I’m determined to work in one of the rice farms here for service and I’m going to milk some cows! Pretty stoked about that. Were also going fishing for shrimp but it’s illegal right now. jaja The season opens in March and one of the members said they will take us.  HOLY BALLS this place is SOOOO HOT and there are SOOOO MANY MOSQUITOS!  It’s terrible! jaja but we just keep working hard. I really do like my area though.  Surprisingly our apartment is huge! Jajaj Like Giant! And we have a big fan so it’s all good but a super poor area. We helped a lady dig a hole for all of her crap 2 meters deep.  My comps pretty cool too. We get along muy bien but he’s just a little lazy. jaja It’s to be expected so I just get him to work even when he doesn’t want to. I told him if I wanted to sit around and not do anything I would have stayed at home! jajaja. So he got the point that I’m here to work and not lazy. The new pens is alright but the food is not the best.  I’ve been sick for the past couple of days and it’s tough.  I’m tired of being sick.  I’ve been drinking a ton of water and it’s filtered so that’s good.

Everyone have a fun week and keep working hard!

Love ya Boy,

What’s up familia!!!!

Well I’ve gotta break the news! This week my comp and I freaking went to town. We set 5 more baptisms for this month that’s coming and so we had 10 investigadores with a date BUT the president changed me... jaja soooo

Yah I’m not in Arequipa anymore! I got transferred out to a little town that is like 4 hours from Arequipa called Corire. I am just way tired. Last night some member’s from the ward came to say goodbye and so I was up until 3 am packing. It’s suuuuuper poor here and my area covers a ton of area but is super unpopulated?  It looks super sweet though I think I’m going to love it. There is finally a ton of green and I’m in heaven.  This is a new area that we are opening and it is FREAKING POOR! It is all tiny houses and farms. There are a ton of cows and mosquitos so I am thinking that I might be getting malaria but hoping not. I don’t know if there are any alpacas or llamas here jaja BUT a lot of cows so I’ll have to milk one of them and ride one cause why not.jajaja  I’ve just gotta find some milk that won’t poison me! It’s awesome here!  I literally just got here though so I don’t have much to say about it yet. Oh and all my pictures got deleted.  I am so bummed about it.

My comp is Elder Romero from Lima.  He’s from my group and is super cool.  We get along so all is good. It’s crazy cause we’re opening this area which is actually opening up a city. So it’ll be pretty sweet and now I have someone to keep teaching me Spanish!!! I’m down with that!jajaja Today we are going to go around and get to know the area.  There is a chapel here but the ward only has about 30 to 40 members. I’ve been told that I’m going to be eating a lot of shrimp and rice here. It’s not coconut shrimp but nothings as good as in the states. Next week for p-day we decided we are going to fish for shrimp cause why not. I weighed myself again before I left and I was 147!!!  I’m all good so no worries.  I just got a little sick.  I don’t know if I’ll put the weight back on here though.  It is a super humble area.  I wanted to come to a place like this though so it’s SWEET!

Love you guys and thanks for all the Jazz updates!!!  AND Keep having fun without me! jajaja
